ABOUT US

Treasured for their believed ability to repel evil spirits, Petunia’s were in high popularity among the Incas. Folklore dictates that these beautiful flowers only thrived in environments that were rich in positive energy and free of darkness or gloom. Petunia Folk was born from the desire to share the talent, traditions and quality of the materials found in Colombia and Ecuador. We collect the magic that flows through the hands of artisans and stitch the natural spell of the Petunia plant into each bag. Each accessory becomes an amulet and source of energy that protects whoever carries it.

OUR HANDBAGS

The interior fabric of our handbags originates from Otavalo, a city that has preserved the indigenous heritage of Ecuador where different ethnic groups embrace their roots and traditions that have disappeared in economically developed cultures. At Petunia, we want to reclaim the multiculturalism and the magic of Andean textiles.

DESIGNER

PETUNIA_L1A5874_edit 2.jpg

Norma Ordonez is an Ecuadorian mother, businesswoman, and admirer of the multiculturalism of her continent of origin, South America. She honors the customs of her region, wishes to protect them and conserve them through the designs of her bags. Each bag is turned into an amulet, made with enchanted fabrics and magic stitches that empowers women in their perspective spheres and roles in today's society.

Petunia turns every accessory into a Koya Raymi, a celebration of Otavalo women and mother Earth.
